It's the early evening, only about an hour after the sun has set when Maya reaches the gate. She's panting heavily and looked panicked. She turns to smoke and passes through the bars of the gate before reforming and falling to her hands and knees.

Oh god. What did I do?

Jennifer is on her way back from hanging in the secret room when she spots Maya across the driveway. Changing direction she heads over towards her.

Maya didn't seem to notice Jennifer. The girl looks completely terrified and her mind was frantic. Around her, dark blue smoke whirls and spins in the night air.

I killed him. Didn't I? I couldn't have. It wasn't my fault.

He deserved it.

"Hey, are you alright?" she asks, keeping some distance from the swirling smoke.

Maya jumps at the sound of Jennifer's voice, looking scared. When she sees that it's her friend, she starts babbling, "I didn't mean to. I really didn't. But I think I really, really screwed up, Jen. I didn't mean to, but he deserved it. So, it's okay, right? Right?"

Maya seems to be calming down a bit, "I was coming home. This...this guy was in the park. Ranting about mutants. Saying they should burn down the school."

"I was so angry," Maya says. "I wasn't thinking."

Maya nods, "Right?"

"But the next thing I know, I'm inside of his body and he's choking. He couldn't breathe and I...I..."

Maya's hands were shaking.

"I think I might have really hurt him bad."

"I'll call them on my cell. Just tell me where exactly it was." she says, pulling out her phone. "Was it self-defense?"

She pointedly doesn't answer the other question.

Jennifer holds the phone up to her head and places part of her sleeve over the receiver. "Yes, hello, I would like to call for an ambulance. There's a guy in the park at Yorkshire and 5th, I just saw him choke and fall over and I think he needs medical attention."

A brief pause.

"No, I'd prefer to stay anonymous. Please hurry." she says, then hangs up before waiting for a response.
