"Hey." Christie said, wanting to be friendly.

Cal froze in place for a moment, blinked a few times, then seemed to move much more naturally, like a stiffness that was barely noticeable disappeared as he looked around, his eyes focusing on Christie. "Oh, hi," he said. "Sorry. Lost in thoughts for a minute there."

"Nope, sorry." Christie replied "I'm just glad I don't have to hear people go on about how awesome the great winged douche is."

"Oh god, seriously," Cal griped. "I think people only show up to that stupid class to eye-bang the instructors."

"Ugh." Christie said, rolling her eyes in turn "Maybe you'll get lucky and get out of PC soon. What do you do, anyway?"

"I electrocute things," Cal said. "And hack my instructors' e-mail accounts to send love letters to their ex-girlfriends."

"That is truly, truly evil." Christie said, sounding amused "I don't know if I should admire you, or smash you before you become a full fledged supervillain."

"Or you could just publicly disavow any knowledge while privately asking to see the steamy stuff that the headmistress is sending to the language prof," Cal said, 'innocently.'

"That just means they have to work harder at it," he pointed out. "I mean... you know how people go through mid-life crises and start overdoing it trying to act young, right?"
