The dragon's eyes narrowed, "I spent my secondary school years in a hospital because anti-mutant assholes are everywhere and I had no choice. You get to spend it in a nice school surrounded by other people your age and you have the freedom to come and go as you please. It's not ideal, no, but it's a damn sight better than it could be."

"People shouldn't settle for good enough," she said, though she took a half step back from, you know, the angry dragon, and reached her hand into her pocket.

"Who said anything about settling?"

[Barbara Kirby]

"You did. You're implying that this situation is somehow fine because YOUR situation sucked."

[Gemma Sloan]

"I dislike people putting words in my mouth." There was an odd blend of tones coming out of her mouth. "I was offering you an example of just how much worse the situation *could* be. Look to improve your situation, but pointless 'woe-is-me' *bitching* is worse than settling because it's completely counter-productive."

"And I dislike people assuming that their own experiences mean anything like that. What's next, a "back in my day" speech?"

The dragon's wings started beating, picking her slowly up off the ground, "I'm trying to relate. Trying to be helpful, but if all you want to do is wallow, then I'll leave you to wallow."
