I13DT: A Pilgrim Returns

[Sean Hall]

Sean had taken something of a sabbatical. He knew though that he'd been heading the call of something... more important than missing a most of a semester of classes. A sword strapped to his side and a few bags probably made him a rather strange site though knowing the campus not that odd of one.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah rounds a corner from behind the mansion and steps into the courtyard. Upon spotting Sean she changes directions.

"Well then, the prodigal son returns?" she says as she's getting closer to him.

[Sean Hall]

Sean looked over at Nailah and smiled.

"At least until I'm called upon again, Nailah," Sean said, "It's... Good to be back though. Was getting to the point where I actually started to miss the city. The few times I had a moment to think about that sort of thing."

[Nailah Weaver]

"As much as you can call Maldon a city. Important things sorted out then, I take it?"

[Sean Hall]

"After a while in the woods your perspective starts to change," Sean said with a smile. "Things are about as sorted out as they can be. Dealing with an Elder God is somewhat... Frustrating."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I hope you're not expecting too much respite here. We've had some troubles ourselves and the shadows are still restless."

[Sean Hall]

"I'd hoped to be able to unpack my bags before the shadows tried to kick in the door," Sean said maintaining his smile. "I'd known it was something of a long shot though. What kinds of troubles? Anything I can help with?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Nothing quite that solid. At least not right now. But there might be someone you could help. In my pride I managed to upset a group of teenagers and in their anger they reached to the beyond. Unfortunately something answered their call and now the only one we managed to save withdrew into herself. I don't know if she still can or wants to be brought back, especially by me, but you have experience with being touched by the darkness below..."

[Sean Hall]

Sean's smile faded as he considered Nailah's words.

"I'll do what I can," Sean said, "What heeded their call? And who survived the calling?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"She's the only one who made it out. And I'm not sure, but he probably was a Sack Man of some description."

[Sean Hall]

"Tell me where I can find the survivor and I'll see what I can do once I've unpacked my things," Sean said, "Anything else I should know about what happened or is going on here? Perhaps something simpler like the Phoenix has returned or we've got a blight of pixies in the lighthouse?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well we don't have a blight of pixies in the lighthouse."

[Sean Hall]

"Well, that's good... wait, what?" Sean asked sounding just a bit confused.

[Nailah Weaver]

"She came back not too long ago. I was pondering how to ease into it, but I suppose there's not good way to do that." Especially when the first thing she did was to take Kevin out on a date...

[Sean Hall]

"Quite," Sean said coolly. "It's odd, now that she's back I almost prefer she'd stayed away."

[Nailah Weaver]

"She's not quite the same since she came back, but who would be. She did say she wants to try to connect more with people and her old self."

[Sean Hall]

"I'm sure she does, but I'm not sure I want to be part of it," Sean said, "There's too many other things that need doing."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You should talk to her at the very least."

[Sean Hall]

"Eventually, " Sean said, "There are more important things to deal with first."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I understand."

[Sean Hall]

"Ever wonder what happened to complaining about the weather or meaningless small talk?" Sean asked.

[Nailah Weaver]

"It died with a stake through it's heart and a curse on it's lips." she smirks faintly.

[Sean Hall]

"Need to look into a ritual to revive it," Sean smirked. "Kind of miss not needing to think about the world ending."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I could complain about some of my students and their lack of study habits if you'd prefer." she chuckles.

[Sean Hall]

"I'd listen politely like a proper English gent," Sean replied with a smile. "Then tell you all about the the most recent Premier League matches and about the many benefits of origami familiars."

[Nailah Weaver]

"And I'd pretend to understand what you're talking about." she smiles. "Oh and you're dorm room is still as you left it. Are there any other administrative things you need to have taken care of?"

[Sean Hall]

"Always nice when people endure such things," Sean said, "Good to know I still have a bed and possibly all of my things."

Sean hefted one of his bags back over his shoulder.

"Thankfully unless I've forgotten to file some previously unknown and obscure piece of paperwork everything should be in order, Professor."

[Nailah Weaver]

"There's always obscure paperwork, but I'm fairly certain everything's in order. If you want to take a look at Persephone, she's in the Med Center, but you probably want to get rid of that bag first. She's sadly not going anywhere."

[Sean Hall]

"Yeah, probably should drop this stuff off and gather some supplies," Sean said, "Is she comatose or injured?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Physically she's fine and technically she's awake and not comatose. Just entirely unresponsive."

[Sean Hall]

"Never can be simple," Sean said, "Has anybody else tried communicating with her using magic or telepathy?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Sam did and we managed to draw the darkness out of her and into an effigy but she remained unresponsive. I can show you the rat I banished the shade into if you want but it's not very pretty anymore, even for a rat."

[Sean Hall]

"I'm sure you would have noticed if there was anything strange about it, so I don't need to examine it," Sean said, "I'll just need to see her myself."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'll meet you at the Med Center when you're ready then."

[Sean Hall]

"Right, I'll be there in a few minutes," Sean said before heading towards the dorms.

[Nailah Weaver]

She nods. "I'll see you there then."
