It was rather late at night when a rarely used notice pinged into the security notices. It would seem that an Avengers Quinjet was landing at the school.

[Samantha McManus]

Not long after, a redheaded woman in a black jumpsuit, holding a clipboard in her hand, strode out towards where it was indicated the Quinjet would be landing.

She did not look particularly amused.

[Justin Halloway]

The ramp descended, and Justin came walking out.

Mars, still tranquilized, was slung over his shoulder. It appeared that while she was out, her wrists had been zip tied behind her back.

[Samantha McManus]

She waited for the din of the engines to die down.

"You must be aware, there are a myriad of ways to contact me that don't involve landing a plane on my lawn."

"As such, you'd best start explaining."

[Justin Halloway]

"Well, I thought you might want us returning your student that we found playing Junior Hawkeye, putting holes in people and all, to be something 'off the books'," he said.

[Samantha McManus]

"Yes, I can see you're the very picture of discretion," she said as she gestured to the jet.

[Justin Halloway]

"Well, I could have let the London police deal with her. She was pretty intent on putting holes through someone who was too drunk to go down from pain."

[Samantha McManus]

"And it never occurred to you to call and have me send a van over?"

[Justin Halloway]

"...You do realize that we report to the UN, right? All our communications are recorded. I don't exactly carry a personal cell phone on the job."

"I just had to stop one of your kids from committing and getting picked up for assault with a deadly weapon, possibly attempted murder depending on how bigoted a cop you got. Are you seriously going to spin this on me for landing on your landing pad?"

[Samantha McManus]

"We've got a good relationship with local and national law enforcement. We've had problem cases remanded into our custody on a regular basis."

"But aye, do continue to lecture me on how the Avengers do business. I'm sure it'll be entertaining to bring up the next time Rogers and I have a talk."

[Justin Halloway]

"Look, you can name-drop all you want, but Steve Rogers was the one who gave me the nod to this team after that same government told him they wanted an Avengers team here. I'm just keeping your little secret vigilante with Circus of Crime connections here off the official radar as a courtesy since he asked us to not let anything come down on you if it could be avoided. You don't want us to? I'll let him know about this when I report in tonight. I'm sure he'll be completely amused."
