I12DT - Natural Snorkeling

[Mahua Clarke]

Mahua frowned at 'my parents kinda hate me', but she tucked the frown away, "I'm sure you're not the only one whose glad. What do you draw?" If she was faking interest, she was a *really* good actor.

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh just... stuff." she mumbles, embarrassed to brag to a teacher about her stupid little webcomic. "Mostly kinda comic-y things cause I can make a little money on commissions online but I'm trying to learn how to draw better..."

[Mahua Clarke]

Mahua finally seemed to put something together. "You're that Kay? The one who draws Savage Lands?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Y-you've seen it!?"

[Mahua Clarke]

"I ran across it when I was doing research prior to coming here. I quite enjoyed it."

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh... uhm... th-thanks." she blushes. "It was really just... I mean... I'm glad you liked it."

[Mahua Clarke]

"You said some of your characters were based on your friends?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Yeah, Theresa and Brigid mostly."

[Mahua Clarke]

"I hope you keeping drawing. It's on my list of regular sites."

[Kay Haddock]

"I... oh wow..." she says, suddenly extremely interested in watching her feet in the water, only glancing at Mahua occasionally. "That's really awesome."

[Mahua Clarke]

There was a beep from on top of Mahua's towel and she reached back to grab her phone and look at it. "Hmph. My apologies, but I have to go get ready for an appointment. It's been a pleasure talking with you, Kay."

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh! Okay. It was nice meeting you."

"Uhm... What classes do you teach?" she adds after a moments hesitation.

[Mahua Clarke]

"No high school classes at the moment, I'm afraid, though I'll be substituting some times. I teach economics and political science classes for the university students. Or I will be." She stood up, grabbing her towel.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay nods. "I'll... see you on Thursday then!" she says and slips into the water, immediately darting away.

[Mahua Clarke]

Mahua smiles as Kay swims away, adjusting her glasses and walking out.
