Nailah is in her office, waiting for Haley and Brigid to show up after having asked them to do so after class.

Haley walked in sullenly, clearly somewhat nervous.
"Hi Professor..."

"Hello Haley. Go ahead and take a seat."

Haley sat down uncomfortably on one of the chairs in front of Nailah's desk.

"Relax, Haley." she smiles. "Orange?"

"Uh...sure," she said forcing a smile.

The oranges were good. Very good.

She slashes an orange once with a claw to make it easier to peel and hands it to Haley.
"It'll be fine. No need to be nervous."

Haley nodded and smiled weakly, accepting the orange while slouching in her chair, peeling it, tossing the skin in a garbage pail, and pulling off a section and eating it.
"....this is a really, really good orange," she said, surprised.

"They are. I have a sneaking suspicion they might be from Spain..." she smiles faintly. For some reason she seems very glad about that hunch.

"Are...oranges from Spain usually this good?"

"Most oranges around here probably come from there. It's just..." For a moment she looks like she's just going to trail off but then she decides not to leave that sentence hanging. "A friend of mine who I let down once is from Spain and I'd like to think these are from her, even though they're probably not."

"Oh..." she said, chewing thoughtfully. "Well...I hope they are, then" she flashed a weak smile.
She looked exhausted, with dark circles under her eyes.

"Yeah...it was a really, really weird one. Not like...any of the other ones I'd ever had."

"Maybe.... but hers are usually more...dinosaurs than spaceships."

"I guess. But that seems like...way weird. She doesn't seem like the kind of girl that would regularly dream about getting beat up on a space station."

"Dreams don't always have to mean something. They usually don't."

"I guess. It just...seemed so vivid. Like. Crazy vivid. I thought I was THERE. It was almost as vivid as that one with the lady and the lighthouse even."

"Well, we can ask Brigid about that and see if she had the same dream."

Brigid knocked.

Haley meekly watched her roommate come in as she finished her orange.

"I'll admit, I'm... not really sure what this is about."
She took a seat with an awkward glance to Haley.

"....so we can...like...talk about stuff. Without beating the shi...crap out of each other, yelling, screaming, or getting way more awkward than things already are."

"Exactly. We put you in a dorm together because we thought maybe it would help you two understand each other a little better, not to make your life miserable and I wanted to make sure that's not what is happening."

"You get mad at me for waking you up all the time because I have bad dreams, or my TP is being stupid, and you and your friends call me a psycho because I have power accidents when I get upset. And...I'm just tired. I hardly spend any time in our room because I'm trying to avoid you. And I'm tired of it. So i like...want to try and fix this,"

"Well, maybe it would help if your boyfriend wasn't such a creep to my friends. Or if you didn't yell at Alex when he was only trying to help."

"Excuse me for being a little upset that one of your friends painted me naked on our door, and I didn't want more people around gawking at me and the painting. And it's not like anyone is ever nice to him, or me."

"It's not like I wanted a huge crowd around our room. Regan isn't my friend. I think she kind of hates me, but you're the one who ghost-punched her or whatever."

"Excuse me for not having perfect control over my powers, miss Perfection," she spat. "My head hurts like hell, like 90% of the time, and even when it doesn't do you know how hard it is to hear what people around you think? To worry about broadcasting your thoughts to the whole room? To wonder if just looking at something is going to make it start flying around the room?"

"Okay okay, calm down a little there. That's all valid points but you're acting as if she should somehow know all that, which I assume she doesn't."

"Whatever."

"Well what about this thing with Kay? You know, Kay, the girl I had to talk down after you and your boyfriend made her run out of the cafeteria in tears. What'd she ever do to you?"

Haley sighed.
"Look, that...got out of hand....and I'll deal with it, with her and the teachers, not you..."
"But she dislikes me and picks on me just as much as you do. Probably because you do. And I think she's the one that had Regan paint that picture."

"Okay that's a lot of assumptions right there and that's not doing us any good. You both have friends you want to stand up for and that's fine but when it becomes a back and forth like this then it escalates like it has the last few days. Haley, you're being a little paranoid and Brigid you're rather vindictive. We're here so you two can talk, not make a case for why something you did was or was not justified."
