Name: Zachary “Replay” Flint
Age: 18
Power: Psychometry
Zachary can sense or "read" the history of an object by touching it. The way Zack receives this feedback come in various ways. He may just get information in brief flash backs or even hear the voices of those that may have been close by the item. The strongest ability and most interesting of his power is that he can actually replay the history that’s happened in the area around the item, basically becoming an onlooker of the past. The object’s history is played back, starting at the most recent then almost literally rewinding until it’s played, in up to a 50 yard radius from the item in the shape of a dome. Anyone in contact with him will see this take place and will disappear from sight while the playback is activated. The playbacks can be explored but leaving the area it’s working in will immediately take you out the powers effect and cannot be returned to. He can only display the history of an item as far as a year back but flashbacks and voices may come from further back than that. The further the history is away from the current time the harder it is to acquire and the shorter the duration the playbacks are.
Other Skills: Zack holds a fine eye for detail and displays fairly good intuition. He studied forensic science and still holds a large amount of the knowledge he acquired while working as an investigator. No boy in the Flint family goes without knowing how to defend himself with their line of work. Zack started training in kick boxing in his early teens. Zack through so much usage of his power has acquired a sixth-sense for knowing what time it is, allowing him to pin-point and focus his power.
Personality: Zachary is a blunt and straight to the point sort of guy. Calm and calculated. He’s generally friendly but can be quite introverted, especially when he’s focused on something. His mind moves faster than he can keep up with and is prone to being spacey. More than often, he procrastinates but keeps to deadlines and commitments with ease. He has no problem with being a giant slacker at times.
Description: He stands about 5’9” and 170lbs. He has a swimmer’s build. He has dark brown hair and eyes. He normally wears solid color t-shirts with a jacket on over them, cargo pants and tennis. He also seems to be a big fan of hats from army caps up to fedoras.
Background: Zachary was born in Chicago, Illinois. Son of the Chief of Police and with even more relatives in law enforcement positions, it was expected of Zachary to follow the tradition. A typical day after school consisted of going to the Police Department to see what his father’s work was like. Profiling, investigating crime scenes and looking at evidence was something Zachary got to see and do on a daily basis. Zachary was pretty much his father’s shadow from the age of nine. Course, he was never shown anything too gruesome during his earlier years. When Zachary was thirteen, his power awakened while looking at a crime scene. Zack and his father were whisked away into what looked like a complete reenactment of the murder that took place. When the play back of his power ended, the two were left baffled at the occurrence. Unsure of what just happened but still hard to ignore, Zack’s father looked into the leads Zack’s power revealed. All of which proved true and the case was closed with the sheer amount of new evidence. Confusion around the source of the flashback was brushed aside when it began to occur more frequently and pinpointing Zack was the cause came soon enough.
Amazed by all this, Zack’s father was more than happy to embrace his son’s gift. With the two working together, case after case in the town were solved. Zack was shot into stardom. Police Departments from other states and even countries were asking for his assistance in solving mysteries. Zack’s investigation days came to an abrupt halt when investigating the murder of a mutant that only lived a few blocks down the street. It wasn’t much of a surprise with negative air mutants had about them but still left Zack shocked and angry. When Anti-mutant protests began he revealed himself as a mutant and stopped his work, declaring that if he as such a freak and evil to these people, he had no business helping them. Crime skyrocketed as a result, flooding the police departments but Zack had nothing to show the entire situation but the cold shoulder. This happened around when he was seventeen and just graduating from high school. His little stunt caused quite the uproar, many people angry and others being extremely apologetic. The town was even planning on making a giant public apology that would have been aired on TV. When Zack’s father told him the news he only replied by showing his acceptance letter from his new college. “Sorry Dad. I’m going to London,” was the last thing he had to say on the matter.
