The jerk downward threw the crab off, just in time for two more grasping arms to miss Madrox. The drones flight likewise was thrown into disarray. Meanwhile Madrox's blast, similarly thrown off, did manage to cripple a few of the arms and one of the legs. The drones from above now seemed to decide that Madrox, inflicting so much damage on their creator, was of more interest than Flux. Now freed, the mutant from the station glided over to where Kat was to catch her where she drifted.

"That's it you overgrown video game cliche, focus on me," he said as he stepped back.

"What's going on...?" she asks Flux as he catches her, still dazed. "Why can't I pull myself down there?" She reaches out with one hand towards the asteroid, straining herself to get her powers to work despite her aching body and for a second the two of them are suddenly falling as the asteroid's gravity jumps up by several magnitudes, producing a surprised scream from Kat at the uncontrolled descend.

"No, keep doing that!" Flux said, holding them up telekinetically, as he saw several of the drones go crashing into the asteroid. The 'crab', further thrown off by the gravity shift, failed to attack Madrox as it struggled to keep itself righted.

Madrox himself was having a challenge fighting the gravity, but his smaller mass helped him to keep a distinct advantage. He scanned for a weak point.

Kat's having a hard time figuring out how exactly to repeat what she just did, now that she's thinking about it, but after a moment of fumbling around she 'spots' the asteroid's gravity signature and with a strained expression on her face tries to repeat and maintain the accidental trick.

With the arms being pulled down, there was a distinct gap under the edge of the 'shell' that wasn't available a moment before.

In the meantime, Flux grabbed onto the plasma cutter with his telekinesis and, as Kat was disrupting the gravity, activated it and rammed it into the exposed end of the shell.

Madrox ran up and shoved his right hand into the gap, opened his palm and fired his repulsor at full power.

The machine's arms seemed to spasm at the repulsor blast. As the plasma cutter dug into the most protected part of its insides, though, it let out a high-pitched electronic squeal that vibrated through the asteroid right up into Madrox's body.

A moment later, it seemed to suffer a power core breach, the force of it blowing Madrox away from it, causing minor damage on his arm, but seeming to soak up most of the damage in its body.

"Hang on... all right. I... think we killed it," Flux said, setting down on the asteroid.

Kat sets foot on the asteroid, standing a bit wobbly before the rest of her influence on the asteroid fades away and she just floats a few centimeters above it, making falling over from exhaustion rather hard.

"I'm okay!" Madrox called out from on his back, charred arm up.

"Eugh... gross..."

Flux, in the meantime, approached the machine, touching it and examining it with his power. "Fascinating. It came in on the asteroid... I've never seen anything like it."

"We'll have it analyzed immediately. This... is too important to sit on, or broadcast openly. As soon as you're ready, we're going to send the information back with your team."

Madrox walked close.

"Hmm... judging by the arms it attacked me with, it seems to be a harvester of some kind. Which, unfortunately, likely means it has a few friends in the area."

"Good thing 'the area' out there is pretty big and mostly empty." Kat says, sounding a bit absentminded. Weakly pulling herself down she stands on the asteroid properly, her power slowly starting to work the way she's used to again as the effects of being shocked start to wear off. She's still a bit wobbly on her legs though.

"Yeah, I'm good."

"<Glaub ich zumindest...>" she adds, mumbling to herself.
(("At least I think so..."))
