For all his toughness, John's still not very good against bright lights. A couple dozen flash bombs blind him, and some solid steel balls to the head take him out of the equation. Bear wins, via ball handling

Constantine v. Chloe, the chunnel, 3 AM
Con's a beast, and has the upper hand in experience killing his own teammates. Chloe swoops in for the eyes; Con swoops in with an axe. Con wins, via total creepiness

Calvin v. Ryan, a farm, 1 PM
As the two face off, they each fire a shot at the other. Ryan's wing gets blasted, hindering his movement--but Ryan's shot manages to disrupt Calvin's electronic bits and scrambles Hal. Cal has enough problems just getting his limbs to move properly; and though Ryan is severely hindered in his movement, is able to knock out his rival. Ryan wins, via poor head security

Location: Stonehenge, 2 PM
An animalistic battle of physical mutation and light-hearted personalities!

Juma "Shaman" Ngomo (0-0) v. Morgan "Psyche" Evans (0-0)
Location: The XU Detention Facility, 10 AM
The pure physical might of Juma v. the mental mind-mucking of Morgan!

William "Gwion" Stanton (0-0) v. Zoe "Slick" Walker (0-0)
Location: A sewer (via the danger room), 1 PM
A foul smelling matchup for these two erstwhile teammates--and shopping buddies. Zoe dressed Will up, but can she dress him down!?

Grappling Zoe is very likely impossible. Will's gonna try to stand his ground as much as he can--no sense moving around too much after someone who can make him slip and fall. His strategy is to stand there in full-on tough mode, solid steel skin and all, and just wait for Zoe to attack--countering by the extending of spikes and the like. He's confident Zoe can't do enough to put him down.

Aww, poor Chloe. But on the bright side that means we won't have to face off against each other.


Strategy: Kelly's main advantage over Simon is his ability to fly, and since Stonehenge is in a wide open field that doesn't give Simon many places to run to. So he would try to use the stones to shelter himself from Kelly's swoops and gust attacks, able to cling even to the undersides of some of the upper pieces due to his gripping abilities. He'd wait for a an opening and try to hit one of Kelly's wings; either with a rock or a stun baton or some other blunt object readily available. If he succeeds then Kelly would be grounded. Simon would use his mutant agility to try and avoid Kelly's talons and his superior strength to knock him out.

Speculation as to other fights:

Juma is pretty damn powerful but I think also what we would consider superstitious. Morgan's powers could really have a field day with this and truly mess up the guy. So I'm going to go with Morgan on this one.

Zoe and Will? Honestly I'm rooting for Zoe on this one. I think her powers just might provide a few tricks that Will wouldn't expect or prepare for. I think she's the "underdog" of this match up and I'm a sucker for rooting for the underdog.

Those are all tough ones. The arguement for Morgan sounds good, but I'm gonna wait on strats before voting.

Like Binary pointed out so well, Zoe's power has ridiculous potential due to it's 'Ignore Law of Nature' mechanic but finding combat applications for that might be tricky.

Kelly/Simon is really hard to tell, needs strategy input from Kelly.

By the by guys, could you do me a small favor, and if it's an actual vote, bold it or somehow other make sure I can tell? Rooting for and leaning towards and all those other words are good, but it makes me make a judgment call when tallying votes, and I don't wanna screw up....

Morgan hmm.

Morgan is an angry girl with an instinctive primal response when threatened, she also has the power of pure hate of any threatening figure to back it up. Morgan's power lies in being able to dredge up the thing most feared by her opponent and as Simon pointed out in this case it is probably rooted largely in superstition. She could amplify all of his superstitious paranoia until he is paralysed.

Her power amplifies the existing nightmare fears of the subject and throws them up around them so that they are walking through their waking nightmares and are unable to escape them. Resulting in most cases in either turning the subject into a basket case or in extreme cases suicidal to escape their paranoia/fear.

So um yes. there we go then. if it doesn't make sense ask an expert in chat on power stuff. they can make it sound more awesome and stuff.

I'm still gonna go JUMA over Morgan; he seems to have his head on straight, and I think he'll be able to ovecome his fears and all that--cause all he's gotta do is clock her once.

Well I guess the other point is that as a teep she can read his mind and know what he's going to do next. *shrugs* something to add to the mix.

I'm also gonna vote for Kelly over Simon, just because if he has any sense at all (not an entirely guaranteed proposition, mind you), he'll take the fight out over the plains, and he has a huge advantage out there.
