A Chopper above the North Sea

Scenes taking place outside of London or Muir, but still on the Islands.

Steph growled and pulled herself back up over the edge, the tendril back below.

"Way too Lovecraft for my tastes," she spat.

Elena shook herself, "Very strange. I'd rather not do that again." She moved away from the shaft.

Sara nods.

"Just so we're clear, I'm not expecting anyone to go down there with me who doesn't want to." Though I'd really appreciate it...

How to describe the corridor the shaft ended in.

The corridor itself, bathed in red light, was about 500 feet long, and ended in a pair of double doors leading....somewhere? Somewhere deeper into the facility, which quite clearly extended under the bedrock of the ocean. Quite a construction project, that. The red lights were coming from the ceiling, spinning lights like the ones on top of police cars flashing red.

Every 150 feet or so was a thick, titanium blast door -- at least half a foot thick each, though they all had massive holes in them now, as if they were torn apart from the inside.

On the tiled floor leading from the shaft to the double doors were the bodies of men in labcoats, brutally ripped limb from limb and slashed into multiple pieces. While not a forensic scientist, the cause of death seemed pretty clear.

Standing, looking at the newcomers, was a tall, gangly...well, let's go with man, with the remnants of pitch black hair over mottled gray skin. Well over six feet tall, and covered in tattoos of occult figures. One arm...well, it was jointed wrong, bending the wrong way at the shoulder and the elbow. The other 'arm' was the aforementioned tendril that was now coiled up in a large ball. Half the man's jaw was missing, exposing teeth, sinew, and muscle tissue. The entire...thing was covered in blood, dripping.

It looked at the newcomers, eyes flashing yellow.

Madrox was suddenly extremely glad he didn't have digestive organs.

"What in God's name were they doing here...?"

It is possible the best answered Madrox, but not in any tongue either of them had heard, as the thing suddenly lurched forward, charging at them!

"Go get Elena!" Sara shouts and throws herself at the thing, trying to ignore the nagging thought in the back of her head about what happened here.

Stephanie didn't like this one bit. She snarled and shifted again, hoping the pain of shifting and a more feral stomach would keep her from violently emptying her stomach.

"Cthulhu called, He wants His style back," she growled before pouncing at the ....thing was really the best descriptor...that charged at them.

The combined mass of Stephanie and Sara would have been enough to knock the thing from it's feet, but it rolled with them, using their momentum to fling them further down the corridor, down towards the doubledoors.

It cracked it's neck twice, and lurched down the hallway towards them, uncoiling it's tendril arm.

Sara pulls herself up from the ground and tries to find a solid stance, preparing herself to grab and hold the tentacle when it strikes at her, hoping to hold it somewhat in place that way to give Steph a clear shot.

Steph saw what Sara was doing and hung back a bit, waiting for the right moment to pounce and tear into the beast.

The tentacle did indeed swipe at Sara, and she held on, tight, as the thing ended up in a giant game of tug of war with her.

In the things other hand, a light began to form.

Stephanie took the opportunity and lunged at the thing as its hand started to glow. She was a blur of fur, fangs and razor sharp claws.

The thing didn't taste human, either, which Steph could get as her fangs pierced the horribly bent arm, and the creature howled, attempting to slam her repeatedly against the wall of the corridor.

The tendril meanwhile doubled it's force, trying to pull Sara closer.

When Elena landed, it took her a brief moment to process what she was seeing. Then she decided it was better not to think too much about it. She inhaled deeply and threw her hands out in front of her, leveling a two-handed blast at the thing's body.

Steph let go only after the third slam into the wall. She growled as she fell to the ground for a moment, but was already about to lunge again when Elena tore into it with a blast.

The blast pounded into the thing, which let out an unearthly howl, falling to one knee, as a hole was blasted through it. The shock caused it to release Sara, as it turned around, howling, and dashed towards Elena, rapidly closing the distance.

The thing snarled as Stephanie intercepted it, and staggered, clearly weakened, trying to throw Steph at Elena.

Madrox tried to line up a clear laser shot at the thing that had clearly ceased being human. As soon as he could without hitting Steph, he'd open fire. The deadly limbs were his target.

The thing howled as Madrox's lazer hit the tendril -- the arm that did NOT have a rabid wolf on it.

It fell to it's knees, howling, clearly weakened.

Sara steps up to it, arm shifting into a jagged stone-spear. It's not really human, whatever it is I'm just putting it out of it's misery. she repeats in her head as she aims to stab the thing in it's chest.

The combined assault, so accurate and deadly, was enough to drop the thing, mercifully.

It rapidly began to putrefy -- much faster than it should, literally decaying before their eyes.
