"Right," Ryan said, taking a deep breath. "Let me get up there again and see what I can find. This might not take long." He looked around for an opening in the trees, then took off for it, flapping up until he could coast and look down to spot the enemies (or brainwashed kinda-enemies).
The closest Rachel could sense felt rather like Grizzly. He wasn't where they had left him, and was in a mood to punish anything he found in his territory.
Ryan likewise could see that Grizzly was on the move. Another large body seemed to be investigating where they set off the collars, with a smaller one circling around.
A fourth lifeforce was moving at a fair clip further up the creek.
"Trev," Stephanie said, walking over to him after seeing a bit of hesitation on his part. She put a clawed hand on his shoulder "Go back with the plane. We need someone with a totally clear head on that plane in case something bad happens with John, Chloe or Professor Weaver...who knows what happened to our heads from this. We can handle everything here."
Trev nodded, a mixture of disappointment and relief crossing his face, and boarded the plane with the rest of the wounded and prisoners.
Stephanie rejoined the group going back in. "If I get out of hand, take me out. Immediately. We can't afford crazy."
Ryan circled in, landing. He started pointing out the directions for people as he kept a fix on the four lifeforms. "Grizzly's that way. I think Rhino's being circled by someone up there, I think Kraven, and there's someone moving up the creek, I think that's Vulture."
"Yeah, that's worked out for us so far, right?" Ryan said smirking. "All right, where first. I... someone else make that call, someone with a clear head."
Ryan was a little more hesitant than the others, and he decided that that was a good thing. He stayed near Rachel as they set off, mentally psyching himself up to not fly in all crazy like he'd done early.
Nick telekinetically threw himself out of the way, but not before bear claws tore into his ever-present jacket and possibly his X-uniform. He responded by launching one of the steel balls Bear had thrown earlier towards Grizzly's head.
Ryan threw his hand out, beams of light arcing out from his hand at Grizzly. "HOw much do you spend on jackets every month anyway!" The banter was mostly for a distraction... trying to keep himself grounded and not crazy.
Steph held back, allowing others to work first, ready to dive into the fray to save someone who healed less quickly than she did. She also was fighting hard the urge to just tear into the fight, and not pay much attention to who got in the way of her jaws....
Rachel could feel the coast was clear, for now. However, there was a sense of interest from the circling one, that might yet become something else.
Grizzly for his part didn't seem to know what he wanted to do, assaulted from so many angles. He lashed out, as if at a swarm of angry bees, thrashing.
Renko watched the others fight and not having their super strength or toughness decided to play a support role. He tried to use his powers to slow down Grizzly's thrashing so that his comrades could more easily avoid the blows and/or take advantage of any openings created by Grizzly's hopefully slowed movements.
"I'll charge you half as much to fix them," Renko said, "They shouldn't moo too much when I'm done."
Grizzly was starting to look a bit punch-drunk from Ryan's blast, and the balls which pummeled him. Combined with Renko slowing him down, some of the fight was taken out of him.
The nervous system Rachel could sense was long and thin, spread out. That combined with the altitude gave the impression that this creature had... wings.
