I13DT - Not that festival of lights

After parking the car in a garage a few blocks away, Samantha walks with Nailah towards Trafalgar Square, the festivities becoming more evident as they near. She keeps a close eye on Miranda and Kay as they walk.

Miranda had managed to keep from being completely irritating on the trip down, even though she was really excited. Now she was holding Kay's hand as they walked, looking around with awe.

Kay was similarly giddy, even though she kinda knew what to expect the Christmas in Flint doesn't exactly compare. She's still a little nervous though and glad that they're falling at least a little bit behind Sam and Nailah.

"Thanks. This is really great." she returns the smile. "Ooh! Have you had hot chocolate yet? There's a stand over there, maybe they even have marshmallows here."

"Yeah, I've had it, but I'd definitely have it again. Just need to tell Mum we're going," she said, pulling Kay forward. "Mum, is it alright if we go get some hot chocolate?"

"Great!" Kay says, more to Miranda than Sam really, and pulls her girlfriend along as she runs to the beverage stand.

Once they get to the stand they get to wait in what's less of a line and more a throng of people. After a while it thins out but somehow the two people manning the stand keep missing Kay and Miranda, taking orders of people who arrived well after the two.

Samantha looked to Miranda and Kay.

"Do you want me to press this?" She mentally asked them, at least conscious of not wanting to ruin the mood.

Kay at least is looking very uncomfortable. Somewhat angry too, but mostly just pulling her hood down into her face.

I don't want hot chocolate that badly, but may Miri does...

No, she thought to Sam with a surprising hint of venom in her voice. Her tone was nothing but sugar when she opened her mouth though, "And I'm sure one of them will be happy to take our money, since you seem to be doing enough business with your..." She looked the stand over, "hot chocolate to be in a position to turn down business. Come on, Kay, we'll go somewhere where they're interested in having customers."

Most of the people around the stand don't seem to particularly care about the exchange, but a couple of them seem to follow their lead and wander off in search of a different stand.
