I13DT: X-treme Dating

Located on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. The low-income borough of Lambeth has been largely taken over by London's mutant population and is now known as Mutant Town.

John walked down a London street at night, holding Bear to him and chuckling at something.

"I'm so glad you dragged me out of the workshop."

"We can't spend friday nights under fluorescent lights, that's the deal, if I recall."

Bear smiled, pecking John on the cheek with her lips.

Bear nodded with a smile, looking at the bright lights of Tweaksbury Doff.

A storefront caught her eye, displaying some Japanese fur nature and decorative items.

"Very nice.."

"Sure, I'll meet you at the cafe."

Bear turned, kissing his cheek again.

"See you soon.."

From a little down the street, a teen in trainers was keeping pace with Bear.

After looking a bit more at the Japanese fashions deciding on a birthday gift for John, she began moving down the cobblestones at a le surly pace, not giving any sign she knew about her tail.

Bear sighed slightly.

"No, I've thought this through enough, thanks! Now, if you two are smart, you'll drop the blades, and go home."

She kept up her smile, showing she had nothing in her hands construed as a threat. She did shift her stance, facing the nearest wall.

The two thugs looked at one another. This wasn't the normal reaction.

"No, this is YOUR last chance! Money and electronics NOW."

Like she had trained thousands of times in the danger room, bear sidestepped, driving a fist into the soft part of the attacking wrist in a strike designed to disarm.

And she did it with a smile.

And disarm it did! The one thug dropped his knife!

Now the OTHER lunged forward with HIS switchblade.

A small spherical machine flew into the thug's path and flashed a painfully bright light in his face.

Bear strode up, removing the other knife from the second thug. After all, someone could get hurt! She folded the blades back up, and put them in her purse.

"Now, this is where I use my angry voice."

She quickly went through the stunned attackers pockets, retrieving any ID he had.

If I EVER see you mugging someone else, especially a woman who looks defenseless, I'm not sending you home. I'm sending you to the King's Road Hospital just two blocks over. Understood?"

She gave the two jerks a look that she was serious, and that she had the Will and the way to follow through.

Bear leaned over, picking up the very familiar ball. She smiled, looking John's way.

"Thanks for the help, Handsome."

The flying robotic sphere beeped, seemingly annoyed by being handled.

"Though I'm not sure you needed it," John chuckled as he walked over to her.
