[Brigid Plunder]

"...Vertie," she says, narrowing golden eyes at the animals.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Ooo, Mister Monkey brought a friend," Theresa said, squatting down and holding out her hands for the monkey.

[Vertie Easley]

The monkey trotted over and handed Theresa a plum from his pack. "Yes, Brig." The parrot said, it's head turning. "Can't stay, hurts the bird. I'm at the zoo, what's left of it, we'll be heading to the Ben next."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Realization spreads over Jennifer's face. "Good to know you're alright. And be careful, everything from Hyde Park down to the river is a giant mess and you gotta cut through there to get to Big Ben. Even the river's turned into some kind of mangrove swamp. Big Ben's somehow untouched and right in the middle of that but that's all we know. Judging by what comes out of that thicket sometimes there's probably a lot of wildlife in there, so you might have a decent shot at finding your way through that mess without getting buried by a collapsing building."

Theresa takes the plum from Mister Monkey and pets him happily. The name 'Vertie' doesn't seem to have registered to her, or maybe she's just fascinated by the monkey.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Wildlife or 'wildlife'?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"The regular kind. Could be worse inside, could be that it's such a huge chunk of our world that it's keeping the other shit at bay. Miranda tried to explain it to me once but it's all nonsense to me."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I don't... feel good, leaving her."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"I haven't gone further than maybe a block in there since this whole mess started and I'm not about to change that. So if you want to go then knock yourself right out. I'll be here, looking after Theresa."

[Vertie Easley]

"Stay with her if it is for the best, I won't be alone. I'll leave Fred and Barney with you and stay in touch."

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa looked from the bird to Jennifer to Brigid, obviously confused. "Something's wrong?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"I just... I missed you, Theresa."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer smiles sadly. "No, everything's alright."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Okay. If you're sure," she said, smiling at the other two. "It's going to rain."

[Vertie Easley]

'When doesn't it rain?" she said. "I'll check in when I'm a block away from the clock." The parrot blinked and tilted it's head to begin preening itself.

[Brigid Plunder]

"...I'll go find her."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Stay safe, okay?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"It's not me you need to worry about."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer doesn't look entirely convinced. "It's not just jungle. There's ruined buildings buried in all that and sometimes one wrong step is all it takes to make them come apart. Just be careful."

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa walked over to Brigid and gave her an abrupt hug. "Yeah. Stay safe."

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid looks utterly unprepared for this, looking over Theresa's shoulder to Jen awkwardly.

"I'll come back. Promise."
