Name: Derek “Obsidian” Scott

Power: Derek has the ability to generate black, translucent crystals from his body. His internal body structure has been altered, so that his skeleton has been replaced by this substance, and his blood contains it in an uncrystalized form. The crystals are lightweight, but extremely hard and in their most permanent state, conventionally unbreakable.

Non-mutant abilities: Paramedic training, wilderness first aid training, field medicine training.

Personality: Derek is friendly and open, generally easy to get along with, and generally tries to empathize with whoever he’s interacting with. He’s compassionate to the point of being easily manipulated at times.

Description: Average height on the slightly tall side, at 6’, with jet black hair and brown eyes. Ruggedly attractive, with a compact, powerful build.

Background: Derek never attended a mutant school, but instead worked with the local X-Corp office while he finished school. He was assigned local power tutors, and run through light training until he’d gotten a basic control of his power. On showing an interest in medicine, he was offered a scholarship to Xavier’s for college, provided that he offer his services to the medical staff after completing his paramedic and basic medical care training.
