Oracle Krakens Set To Arrive in London!

This year, London will see a head to head competition, not just between football teams, but between precognative cephelopods. National pride is on the line as Paul Oracle Kraken, who first catapulted to fame during the 2012 cup, where he correctly predicted the results of all of the German matches, is being challenged by a previously unknown Atlantean giant squid. The Atlantean squid first became interested in football during the qualifiers leading up to the 2018 cup,and is believed to be responsible for several of the large fortunes made by several Atlantean bettors.

Because of this precognative rivalry, both Paul and the Atlantean Giant Squid, who's name is unpronouncable, have announced that they intend to travel to London for the Cup. Due to the lack of aquarium facilities, the Atlantean Squid will be spending his time in the Channel, near the mouth of the Thames, where a special underwater jumbotron has been constructed for him and the rest of the Atlantean delegation. Paul, however, will be staying in a specially constructed mobile tank in London proper.

"We're quite looking forward to having not one, but two famous non-human precogs at the event." said Henry Jones, head of the London World Cup Committee. "This adds flavor to the event, and will make the 2022 Cup one of the best ever."

The official committee isn't the only ones happy about this. London's bookies expect this to increase interest in betting, and are also taking bets about which of the two precogs will have the best record.

Not everyone is impressed with all of the hoopla. The noted American precog, Foresight, when asked said "We know very little about the Atlantean Giant squid, and I've never heard of one predicting sporting events. Sports are very difficult for even the best human precogs to predict, there are just too many variables. Frankly, you don't have to be much of a precog to predict that Germany will do well at the World Cup, and Paul isn't infalliable. He predicted England to upset Germany in the group stage in '18, and that ended in a draw."

Both Paul Oracle Kraken and the Atlantean Squid declined to comment for this article, saying they'll issue a statement, and their predictions for the first game, at a joint press conference. We eagerly look forward to the first match in this battle of the Krakens!
